This is the very first batch of selfed S1 seeds we’ve ever released of this strain. The founder of the company now in his 70’s decided it was time to let some out into the community so the genetics are not lost.

This is our second to last of the old school heirloom skunks in our library. It has some similarities to our 1981 skunk, but this one seems to grow into a much bushier Christmas tree style pattern, but has somewhat less pronounced node gaps. So it will stay slightly shorter than the 1981.

The flowering times are similar to the 1981 but the structure of this 1979 skunk resembles a little bit more towards the 1988/89 UK cheese in structure. She will grow tall but will also grow wider. By no means is this a short plant, but it’s a few inches shorter, upon finishing than say the 1981 skunk.

The flavors are also a little bit different from the 81. This 1979 skunk is full frontal of what most would call gut wrenching and nauseating. Carbon filters are a must and secondary carbon filters are advised. Once harvested and drying the smell really smacks you. If you’re hang drying in an occupied living space it’s true to the gut wrenching nauseating smell. It’s best advised to dry away from people unless you love to stink.

The smell of this one is more towards the purist sulfur/rotten egg smell and pure rot. It truly smells like decaying organic matter with a strong tone of sulphur to the putrid rot and decay. To the degree we hired trimmers that were experienced that upon trimming replied multiple times that the drying room smells of an overflowing toilet and dead animal. One of the trimmers bowed out because she said the smell was too intense to continue. Some of our staff won’t partake in the 1979 skunk and the 81 is “as far down that rabbit hole of death smells” they’ll go. As the 81 has a little bit more of a damper on the sheer putrid stench. This 79 skunk makes one wonder how far is too far into the realm of rotten eggs and rot smells.

This strain is not for the faint hearted. It does make for a wonderful breeder or anyone that wants to impress others with just how nasty a true old school skunk can get.

The stretch is easily 3x’s upon 12/12. Harvesting at around the 80 day mark will make for a vibrant uplifting heady feeling and the true awfulness of the stench hasn’t reached its total fever pitch. The flowers will fill in nicely, but as all old school skunks there are some gaps that may not be filled in entirely. Though, she still packs on a proper weight with her large size.

She will adapt quite well to training methods and seems to enjoy staking and SCROG. She can take a proper dose of nutrients and her vigor for being so old isn’t impeded in any significant way.
